Machetes

The description said it all. 5 machetes from Colombia. I love them. Gave one as a white elephant gift, one to my Hispanic neighbor and now I have three machetes to use. Amazing

Rough, but functional

These machetes aren't going to win any beauty prizes. The knife edge has the coarsest grind I've ever seen. However, after a few passes with a handheld knife sharpener, one of them easily cuts through healthy southern bean vines with little more force than it's own falling weight; easily outperforming my OKC 12" butcher knife by a long shot. They are functional machetes and at least they're made in this hemisphere.

I'm fairly picky about the quality of most of my tools. These don't strike me as being particularly good, but for the tasks that they perform, I also don't expect to have to replace them any time soon. Also, in my opinion, they are a good deal.

bang for the buck / hack of a good deal

found two excellent ones to use right away or put in a gear load out , the thee others one will be turned into a pizza knife via my belt grinder and a hand piece made for the tip area. One of the others will become project fodder , the last and the longest and thinnest stock will wait until something comes up.

A great deal...

...and great protection when taking on that jungle in your backyard, or the recalcitrant, ill-mannered, and rabid Shih Tzu next door. I would still play dead if I ran into the grizzly that messed with Leonardo DiCaprio, CGI or not. Or that cocaine bear.

Surprisingly robust blade, not at all flimsy. My package came with two alike but it was no big deal as it was my favorite profile (the one on the left in the above photo, missing the one on the right, which would be my next favorite profile).

These are some great machetes to have If you have an overgrown, oversized backyard or are just cutting some blue agave to make your own Patron.

This is really a great deal; no mierda de toro.

Excellent Machetes For A Great Price!

The machetes are of a good quality, I ended up giving some to friends as gifts and they love them as part of their camping equipment! Highly recommend them and HJE as a go-to for hardware needs!
